Due to personal reasons, for the time being, I shall be celebrating Women in Horror Month online, discussing the work of the incredible women I have encountered over the years and looking to what the future looks like for women working in horror. Jennifer xo

"Jennifer’s Bodies is a roving annual festival of female-helmed horror movies and part of Women In Horror Recognition Month, an international assortment of affiliated events organised partly to highlight just how much women can and do contribute to the genre outwith the typically accepted factors of tits, ass and mezzosoprano screaming." Announcing MORE Wicked Awesome Official Jennifer's Bodies Shorts!

So it is with great pleasure I can tease you with the announcement of a couple more of the deliciously awesome shorts I have for you at Jennifer's Bodies, this coming February.

Never one to shy away from showing the talented work of those from around the world, these next two announcements include short features from Cyprus, and a German chick living in Houston TX!  :)

So first up is an entry from Cyprus, a country that basically has NO film industry, let alone budgets for films...which makes Daina Papadaki's quirky, kooky, downright fucking awesome short 5 Ways 2 Die, even more of an achievement!!  This film absolutely screams JENNIFER'S BODIES...or should that be totally Morley!?!  Heehee.

It also oozes a little bit of Hitchcock as well, at least that's what I immediately thought.  When I say Hitchcock though, I can pretty much guarantee that it's NOT what you're thinking!!  Points to those who guess what I'm thinking of from this wicked awesome trailer for 5 Ways 2 Die, and remember, I'm a total Hitchcock nerd!!  ;)

Next up is a more sinister little short from the mind of Houston based German chickaroo, Sarah Theissen called The Message.

It's funny because having mentioned Hitchcock, this is yet another short that I'm sure the Master of Suspense would have gotten kick out of!  And it's nice because it's a total 180 from 5 Ways 2 Die, yet still manages to (possibly) unintentionally ooze a little of the Hitch, in the best way possible.  We'll have to wait for me to pick director Sarah's brain for more info!!  And speaking of the name Sarah, the credits feature a track from the ridiculously talented Sarah Daly, the writer/composer of the Scottish indie flick Lord of Tears, who sings/composes under the name Metaphorest.  Sarah is without a doubt one of the most talented musicians I've ever encountered, her voice is absolutely breathtaking, and so to see her team up with another wicked female filmmaker, it makes me smile it does! :)

Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements before the full line up is announced on the 1st February.  Also look out for interviews with all of the directors featured, as well as a brand spanking new website that will see Jennifer's Bodies become more interactive on zee world wide webbage too!!  Go Go Zombie Grrrrrl POWAH!!  Or something.  :)
